A sophisticated microprocessor controls watch winding cycles of 650, 800, 950 or 1300 Turns Per Day (TPD), with a choice of clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation or automatic reversing when desired. Most programmable winders operate on 6 VDC battery power (4 standard alkaline "C" cells) or with a supplied plug-in AC/DC adapter. Each winder is fitted with at least 2 Conrad-type precision ball bearings that support the rotating cup. Precision ball bearings provide reliable, maintenance free operation with operating life measured in terms of decades. The low friction of these precision bearings also results in minimal battery drain....important for battery-operated units. All ORBITA winders employ space-age, high quality, Swiss designed, ironless core motors. These extremely low current draw motors maximize battery life and provide years and years of dependable service. The robust gearbox utilizes a three-stage, factory lubricated technopolymer belt and gear system that is quiet and durable. Two oversize precision ball bearings and a massive steel output shaft easily carry the high overhung loads generated by the weight of heavy watches. We also offer the unique SEMPRE winder, the world's first winder for virtually any manually wound mechanical watch. Each and every winder component has been designed and field-tested to insure long and trouble-free operation. Even the heaviest automatic wristwatch winds silently and effortlessly, supported by the oversized steel drive shaft, which is fitted with four low-friction, precision-groundball bearings. |
